Civil Rights Movement
Civil Rights Movement

Black History Month has traditionally been all about the  Civil Right Movement and the categorizing that place and that time as the whole black experience.

Now that Barack Obama is President and the glass ceiling is shattered, I think that we need to move from 100 Civil Rights.
We have a long and powerful History of Great People!
Believe me when I say, I take nothing away from the Civil Rights movement, if not for the movement then we would not be where we are today. However; before the  Civil Rights struggle their were African American People that were finding a way to make it, and to succeed in society. Their were many people that through business, athletics, art, entertainment and armed forces, were able to make a dent in the Iron Veil.  The questions remain, who are they? and how did they do it?
The latest how did he do it?  Barack Obama, came up in complete oblivion to every African American tha was not in the Chicago political scene.
In 2008, does how could a man come through the system and not make a wrinkle! Then run for President and win, without really focusing on the African American community?
We need changes to Black History!
We need at least to change:
  1. Current Movers and Shakers
  2. Up and Coming Movers and Shakers
  3. Education of Historic Contributors
  4. Way to comment and
  5. Inspirational unity and ways to show it

We have a whole month to really Inspire our Race to move forward but I don’t think we are truly capitalizing on the opportunity.

Let’s engage conversation on ways we can move forward.

We need change!

MLK the Dream is Alive

MLK the Dream is AliveWe can overcome

With 8 days to go>>>>>>>> MYDREAMALIVE.COM <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Here we are so close to the finish line.
Wow.. Did MLK have this in mind? Was this the America that he was dreaming about?
When he talked about an America that did not see the color of your skin but the content of your character, was he talking about this time, this place and this hour?
Barack Obama & MLK have so much in common.
MLK was looking at our Social equality the ability to eat at the same table, go to the same schools and vote at the same Voting booth.
Barack Obama is focused on our Economic equality, being able to earn a descent living, save and move our families to the next economic level.
The last 8 years the gap between the rich and the middle class has grown at an alarming rate. We have  taken a step back.
Now with Barack Obama so close to victory, one can only hope & pray that we have enough courage to cross the finish line.

But what about McCain!!

Why is McCain starting the name calling and offensive verbage towards Obama now?

What happened to the “Maverick” the “Change Hero”? I thought that he agreed that elections did not have to be won with mud slinging?

Perhaps it’s because he did not win the debate last Friday, and with the Economy in the tank, McCain is ready to try and discredit Obama any way he can.

Well we are not falling for it, are we? Why doesn’t McCain do everybody a favor and realize that America does not want 4 more of the last 8 years. See where the last 8 years have gotten us?

Is anyone out there as outranged as me? Where should politicians draw the line? They should be our inspiration!

Anyone Agree?
